The Jazz are doing this trade for two reasons 1) Tyreke Evans will instantly be the starting point guard or even shooting guard for the next decade 2) Boozer needs to go (Millsap starting) and by trading his large expiring contract the Jazz can go after a big name player (guard or center) this free agency to round out the starting rotation.

I accept, Boozer is a top 5 PF in the league and I'm getting him for an unproven rookie and even with taking on some salary I still have the cap space to sign a FA this off season.
