I'd like to introduce a new rule concerning overseas players but this is just a reminder that players drafted in the 1st round must be signed and players drafted in the 2nd round don't have to be signed for two years (NBA rule but not 100% sure that is rule here).
So....
Serge Ibaka (CHA) Darren Collison (LAL) Hasheem Thabeet (LAL) Demetrius Nichols (NYK)
were all 1st round picks that were somehow unsigned. Since Nichols is a team option the Knicks don't have to sign him but the other three need to be signed ASAP.

Well Serge was overseas last season IRL. He just came to the NBA this year. The NBA rule says that the team who owns the rights to a player like Serge has one more season to sign them, after they come back from overseas.
Just saying that is the reason I did not sign Serge last season.

So you have until next year to sign them?

That is the NBA Rule. I can try and find it written down, but it took me awhile last time I did end up finding it, and I don't remember exactly where it is. But yes, if we use the NBA Rule, I would have until the start of the next draft to sign him/them.

Ok, the other three still need to be signed. Actually since signing them is a requirement they are signed now. Don't need GMs input.
