It is to my understanding that Jones made close to 3 million last season. He feels he has done nothing, but play up to his talent level. He is looking for a 2 year deal in the neighborhoods of 6 million total.

He averaged 4 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist last year. The Knicks organization feels that is not worthy of 3 million dollars per year. However we do like what Jones brings to the team and would like to keep him as key member of our bench so we will up our offer.
2 years and 3.5 million.
Year 1 (1,500,000) Year 2 (2,000,000)
Year 1 (56,143,788) Year 2 (27,855,420)

Its better, but he feels he can get more elsewhere. We will leave this offer on the table, if ok by you, and test the free agent market. If you want to revoke your offer at any time you may do so.

Fred Jones would like to get at least 5mil for the 2 years if you don't want to comply with the 2year, 6mil. He still feels he can get better in the free agent market, but he would like to stay with the team.
