I realize RimRockers 2.0 hasn't panned out as expected but we still have a few months left before we switch back to RimRockers so might as well make it as enjoyable as you can. Post in this thread suggestions to make this league more enjoyable for you and the staff will discuss it amongst ourselves to make sure your suggestion is put into action.

When we change it back to RR 1.0 are we going to have our old teams the same way that we left them or the way that they are now?

The rosters will be the same as when you left them.

What does that mean for someone like me who is building a team in Chicago in this league, but wasn't in RR1. Is this league going to end? I sure hope not.

The switchover will take place after this season has completed. As for RR2, we might switch back next off-season if we ahead of schedule but it all depends on how the rest of this season goes, if there is lots of activity then we'll most likely continue, if not then we'll end it after this season is completed.

This is hard for a team like mine, bc I have started looking to the offseason and the potential that the 6ers could have with an offseason of free agency and the draft, as well as more trading.

We had a league - Rim Rockers (now called Rim Rockers 1, or RR1). We got very far ahead of the real life schedule, and ran into some problems. So we decided to make a "RR2 (Rim Rockers 2)" league, where we re-simmed the season we had already done in RR1, only with managers taking new teams. Once the RR2 playoffs are over, we will be switching back to RR1, with everyone going back to their "original (RR1)" teams.
I hope that is explained well enough for new managers.
