This is how it goes, put a team into any situation and the next poster that posts makes the move to try to reach the goal set.
For example:
"After a second straight early playoff exit, Phoenix owner Rod Black wants to re-build the Suns and cut down the cap"
Next poster:
1st move - Trade Caron Butler and Ray Allen to the Miami Heat for LeBron James, salary fillers.
James is the best young player in the league so this is a no brainer for a team that wants to re-build. The Heat fill out their starting five. James has been struggling for the Heat so not much is lost. A starting five of Camby - Gasol - Butler - Allen - Kidd is easily the best in the league
You can do up to 5 moves whether it be free agent signings in the off-season (assuming the players that you mention don't re-sign), trade or buyouts etc. After you finish posting your solution, post a new scenerio for the next poster.

Philly fans are tired of the losing and management wants to win now. Make Philly a contender in the East to the best of your ability.
(BTW, make trades that makes sense for both teams and keep it realistic)

Trade The Contracts of Andre Miller, Jerome James, and Jamaal Magloire along with Eric Gordon and Willie Green to the Raptors for Allen Iverson, Mikki Moore, and Desmond Mason.
Bringing AI back to Philly would raise interest and a starting 5 of AI/AI2/Mason or Korver/Gomes or Smith/Dalembert is a lot better than what you have now and there is room for improvement.

My scenario
1st move- Trade the first rounder while it's value is still higher, package it with Russell Westbrook, Jerome James and Samuel Dalembert to Utah for Carlos Boozer and Ben Wallace
Utah isn't going anywhere with the current lineup IMO. Getting rid of Boozer is tough but they're also ridding themselves of Big Ben's terrible contract. They get one of the best guards in the past draft for a team that lacks starpower in the backcourt. Hughes and Westbrook will suffocate other team's backcourts and should be one of the best defensively. Dalembert replaces Big Ben at the 5, has a reasonable contract and is coming off a career year, he's also young enough to be part of the re-building process. Jame's has a pretty big expiring so that help's clear cap. The first rounder at the time of the trade looks to be a lotto.
Philly gets a top 5 PF to give them the inside scoring they've been looking for in, forever. Although Big Ben has a nasty contract, he provides defence and rebounding, any team can use a center like him even though he's overpaid. A core of Miller- Iggy- Boozer- Big Ben doesn't look too bad IMO
2nd deal- Eric Gordon, Jamaal Maglore (expiring contract) to the Hornets for Jason Richardson
Philly might be losing in the long run if Gordon reaches his potential but this is a great trade for a team wanting to contend. JRich is one of the best 3pt shooters after his last season IMO, this guy is a great scorer and will be one of the best 3rd options in the league next to Boozer and Iggy. New Orleans looks to be headed to the lotto, Brand probably won't be coming back so they better start re-building. Gordon is a young scorer who should keep the backcourt respectable, he's been playing well with Philly this season so the Hornet's aren't really losing any production since JRich was struggling. Not to mention they also lose about 4 mil in cap.
Current starting five: Wallace- Boozer- Igoudala- Richardson- Miller
I think a starting lineup of Wallace- Boozer- Igoudala- Richardson- Miller should contend with Boston for the Atlantic, has a bit of everything. Shooting (Richardson, Korver), defence (Big Ben, Miller, Iggy), rebounding (Miller, Wallace, Boozer, Iggy), athleticism (JRich and Iggy) and scoring (JRich, Miller, Iggy and Boozer)
