Reasoning:
Obviously as the Nets I'm trying to build a complete team and add some depth with the picks. I'm also not going to resign either Ridnour or Outlaw. Outlaw could someday be an 80 if his situation changes but I don't want to pay 6+ million to find out. Ridnour is a good point guard and proved last year that he can lead a team. The Jazz need at least a good backup point guard and Telfair really isn't that. Ridnour is better than what they have now and Outlaw also gives them more depth at the 2/3/4 since he is developing into a great closer. Both players are expiring ($10.5 mil) and just so I don't ruin their cap space this season I'd be willing to take on Marcus Banks contract. This would save the Nets around 6 mil this off season and possibly a lot more since there won't be a decision about Outlaw.
So the 2nd round picks balance out (Nets don't have a 2010 2nd) since that Nets pick could be better than 35th as the team will probably still be in rebuilding mode. Banks is a throw in to alleviate the two expirings of Outlaw and Ridnour. Oh, and since there was a recent trade of Yi who is a 74 for two first round picks I didn't see a big deal with trading two 74's for three first round picks. Although I could be mistaken about that.
