We believe that Chris Paul is a top 5 player. Therefore, we will pay him, in his 2nd contract, equal to what another top 5 player (Dwight Howard) got in real life last season.
Year 1: $13,750,000 Year 2: $15,250,000 Year 3: $16,500,000 Year 4: $17,750,000
Total: 4 years - $63,250,000
We remain committed to continuing our construction of our team based around Mr. Chris Paul. As the best PG in the game, we know we can attract other big name players in trades and some other signings. We have other youth on the team that is growing into their potential (Spencer Hawes, David Lee, Rudy Fernandez, Marc Gasol, Tyrus Thomas, Delonte West). We made the playoffs last year, and got further than expected, and with all of these players, including Chris, making improvements (raised ratings expected), we see big things in the future of the Charlotte Bobcats.

My client is ecstatic with the contract offer but would feel more inclined to accept the offer if a 5th year player option was added. If the young player do develop up to their potential and Bobcats management is aggressive in adding big name players, Mr. Paul would like to be a Bobcat for a long time.

The Bobcat organization would love to add on a 5th year Player Option. We forgot the rules and thought it could only be a 4 year offer for some reason. Anyway...btw, can we go to 6 years or is 5 the max? We would put on a 6th year, as we truly believe Chris Paul is a top 3 player in the league. For now, the 5 year offer is below.
Year 1: $13,750,000 Year 2: $15,250,000 Year 3: $16,500,000 Year 4: $17,750,000 Year 5: $18,000,000 (Player Option)
Total: 5 years - $81,250,000

5 years in the max.
Chris Paul happily accepts this offer. Make sure to update your salary/depth charts.
