Calderon is off to Seattle Involving a Swap of Former Teammates
On April 14th the Sonics and Spurs came to an agreement that would exchange the teams starting point guards. The trade involved two former teammates, it sent T.J Ford to San Antontio in exchange for Jose Calderon and futur draft selections. Seattle GM spoke about the trade yesterday morning and clearly stated that Calderon was a player that he was after to run the point here in Seattle. He stated that Calderon was a perfect fit for the organization because they feel they need a pass first point guard and one that can also shoot. Calderon will be joining former teammate Charlie Villaneuva in the starting lineup. These two played in Toronto together as rookies. When Calderon spoke on the trade he seemed very estatic about his new opportunity and feels he will fit in right away and will be ready for the new upcoming season. He spoke of the tough year he went through last year in Toronto backing up Jason terry. Calderon only saw the floor in 57 games and saw less than 8 mins a game averaging just 2.5 PPG and 1.3 APG while never hitting a three point shot all season. Jose Calderon will be set to practice tomorrow afternoon in Seattle, Washington.

Sonics Move to Oklahoma City
June 20th, 2008
Clay Bennett finally found a dollar amount that would sever his contentious relationship with the city of Seattle—$75 million.
As a result, the SuperSonics are headed to Oklahoma City with Bennett leading the way, leaving behind the team name, colors and 41 years of history.
Oklahoma City will have an NBA franchise for the 2008-09 season after a settlement announced Wednesday between the team and the city of Seattle, ending the clashing bond with the city that culminated in a six-day federal trial over terms of the team’s KeyArena lease.
“It was a tough experience for all of us that were involved in it. There was just so much that happened on both sides, so much misinterpreted, miscommunicated and misunderstood that it was difficult but the NBA will be in Oklahoma City next season" said Bennett
