Major moves being made in MilwaukeeChandler is one of the new faces coming to MilwaukeeApril 2, 2008 - 12:43 PM AP - The Milwaukee Bucks, virtually quiet right after the Finals, and even after the draft, have finally made some moves to bolster the line-up. The team has not been an active trade participant, it's last move being the one that landed Ron Artest in a Bucks uniform. But in the past 24 hours, the team has made two trades, one major move sending team favorite Gilbert Arenas back to the Washington Wizards, and another smaller deal to land some defensive intensity off the bench. The major deal sent Arenas, along with newly re-signed Mickael Pietrus and Andris Biedrins, Brian Scalabrine and the teams 2009 First Round Pick to the Wizards. In return, the Bucks recieved Tyson Chandler, Devin Harris, and Jamal Crawford. The other trade, which was with the Bobcats, brought in defensive specialist Bruce Bowen and young point guard prospect Sergio Rodriguez. The team traded a management favorite Renaldo Balkman, Adrian Griffin, and the teams 2009 2nd Round Pick.
"Feels good to finally get something done for the city of Milwaukee." stated the Bucks GM. "We finished the season off great, but I just didn't think having only Arenas and Artest would get it done. We did draft Roy Hibbert, who is going to be a great addition, but I did feel something major needed to be done. Keeping Gilbert was in my plans, but I couldn't pass up on the deal. It rounded out the starting line-up a little better. We now have one of the biggest power forward-center combinations, with two seven footers in Chandler and Hibbert, who both are great defensive players, and I expect them to shut down opposing front courts. Devin Harris is also another good defender, who's a pass first point guard. Jamal Crawford, although not much of a defender, can bring in the scoring that we're losing from Arenas. It was tough to get rid of the pick, because I don't know how the team will play, but I am confident with all the new guys that we will be out of the lottery. We're in talks with a few other teams, so who knows what will happen before the start of the season."

Big trade in the works?April 10, 2008 - 11:38 PM AP - As speculated, the Milwaukee Bucks organization are still in talks to make a major trade, but are not sure who the deal will be involving.
Report earlier, it does appear Ron Artest's days in Milwaukee are coming to an end. but it also appears newly acquired point guard Devin Harris could also be on his way out. Teams have been inquiring about the young point guard, and a deal involving Harris could be inevitable. It also looks like Tyson Chandler has been shopped around for a more suitable power forward, but talks have been just that, talk.
It does appear a trade will be done, but with who and for whom?

Harris traded to WizardsMay 23, 2008 - 2:10 PM AP - After a month of play, the Milwaukee Bucks have finally made a change to their starting line-up. The Bucks traded Devin Harris from the team they acquired him from, the Washington Wizards, for Daniel "Boobie" Gibson and Raja Bell. The teams also exchanged Dan Gadzuric for Vladimir Radmanovic. It appeared early on after the Bucks traded for Harris that he was on the move, but no deals were done until now.
"Going to be tough to let a guy like Harris go." stated the Bucks GM. "We loved his defense and that he was a pure point guard, but we have to look long term. The team is playing bad, and we have no chance to re-sign both Ron Artest and Harris, so we had to get a deal done. The team has not been playing the way I expected, because I brought in all these guys so we could stop teams, but that just has not happened. We are getting blown out constantly, and the defensive approach to the game didn't work. We don't know how we're going to shape our team now, but at least we added another guy who can shoulder the scoring load."
The team might explore trying to starting Crawford at point guard, since he was passing for the same amount of assists per game as Harris, and start Raja at shooting guard to play D. Boobie woud be a good option off the bench as a sixth man since they traded Charlie Bell for Garbajosa earlier.

Okafor the new big dog in MilwaukeeEmeka now looks to control the paint for the BucksMay 27, 2008 - 11:16 PM AP - Shortly after the team played the New York Knicks at home, word was sent to Tyson Chandler and newly acquired Raja Bell that they would be sent to the Charlotte Bobcats. The Bucks got in return Emeka Okafor and DeShawn Stevenson.
After what has been an embarrassing season thus far, upper management knew something had to be done. "We just recently ended our 6 game losing streak with last nights win." states the Bucks GM. "That was not the kind of result we were hoping for from out guys. We're playing tough, but we just couldn't beat the teams we should be beating. I brought in all these defensive minded guys, hoping we could make some stops, but that just was not happening. We were getting out-scored constantly. This is going to be a new approach. We're bringing in Emeka, who is a great player, and plays just as good amount of defense as Chandler, but I feel Emeka has a better low-post offensive game. We can throw it to him in the post, and let him open up shots for Artest and Crawford."
"It's going to be tough not seeing our team at full strength since Hibbert is our for three weeks. This is going to be a good test for the guys, I can't wait until our next game."

Bucks add StackJuly 10, 2008 - 2:17 AM Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - In an effort to turn this roller coaster of a season into a winning one, the Bucks added Jerry Stackhouse to the line-up. Milwaukee has agreed to send Bruce Bowen, rookie Mario Chalmers and Malik Rose to the Memphis Grizzlies. In return, the team brings in Jerry Stackhouse, Jim Jackson and Damon Jones.
"We needed to do something." the GM stated. "The team had just come off a good winning streak, but then ended up losing our next two. DeShawn hasn't been our guy in the line-up, and we think Stack can bring in some much needed offense. DeShawn will still be a key player off the bench. We're hoping to make the playoffs, and we think Stackhouse just might be able to bring us over the top and into the playoffs."

NEED FOR SHEEDBucks trade for Rasheed Wallace and Stephen JacksonSheed is now the main man in MilwaukeeAugust 30, 2008 - 1:38 PM AP - With the trade deadline looming, the Milwaukee Bucks made a move to try and send a jolt through the team and get them into the playoffs. Management traded Ron Artest, who was acquired one season ago at the trade deadline, and Emeka Okafor to division rival Chicago. In return, the Bucks got Rasheed Wallace, Stephen Jackson and Jason Maxiell.
The Bucks have recently been playing even basketball, with winning one game then losing the next. The Bucks GM is hoping this will change with the trade.
"We needed to do something." states the Milwaukee GM. "The team just couldn't string any kind of winning streak together, not even two games. Ron Artest has been in a funk since he returned from his injury, and it's really hurting our chances at making the playoffs. We love everything he has done for us, but it was time to move on. It was hard to let Emeka go because of how well he's been scoring and rebounding, but we feel Rasheed can bring all of that to the table as well. We needed to add guys who have been to the playoffs before, some veteran leadership, and we think both Jackson and Wallace can at least get us into the playoffs at this point. There is still plenty of basketball to be played, and we do think we could sneak in."
