HAHAHAHAHA Rudy Gay franchise player. You guys are freaking crazy. Check out some stats please.
Gay - 37:17mpg, 7.2/16 - 45.3%FG, 1.1/3.1 - 35.1%3pt, 3.3/4.4 - 76.7%FT, 5.5rpg, 1.7apg, 1.2spg, .8bpg, 2.6 TOpg, 18.9ppg
Chandler - 33:23mpg, 5.6/12.9 - 43.2%FG, 1.3/3.8 - 32.8%3pt, 2.1/2.6 - 79.5%FT, 5.4 rpg, 2.1 apg, .9spg, .9bpg, 1.7 TOpg, 14.4ppg
So they are almost exactly the same player. Slightly lower percents in FG and 3pt for Wilson, higher FT for wilson...gay played more minutes so you have to give rebound, assist, and block advantage to wilson, steals to Gay...turnovers pretty close, wilson better though...and Gay scores more - BUT - he shoots more as well, so that's really about even. Chandler is a year younger and less experienced, so his numbers have a better shot at going up than Gays...PLUS Chandler has now locked up the starting spot in New York. He did not have that for all of last year.
To make up for any difference there I get...
Azubuike - 32:06mpg, 5.3/11.4 - 46.4%FG, 1.3/2.8 - 44.8%3pt, 2.5/3.1 - 80.8%FT, 5.0rpg, 1.6apg, .8spg, .7bpg, 1.3 TOpg, 14.4ppg.
Now let's factor in something I've thought of which a lot of you haven't.
Chandler's value obviously isn't as high as Gay's is right now. I believe it will be shortly though. Chandler expires after this year, so I can sign him after this season for MUCH cheaper than I can resign Gay after a whole additional season. In my eyes I get a pretty similar player (Chandler, who I haven't even mentioned yet is a great defender. He guards any spot 1-4, and does it extremely well), who I can sign for cheaper and longer, plus another similar player in Azubuike who is locked up for a few more years at a decent price.
Take a look at all the stats, and tell me there should be more than a 3-4 pt difference between chandler and Gay (and i think even 3 pts may be a little too much). There's no way there should be. Even if that means bringing Gay down, or Chandler up, there is really not much difference between them. Adding in Azubuike who should barely be a couple points behind Chandler, if that (Azu's 3pt shooting is absolutely incredible. He may have been the best 3pt shooter in the league last year with a 45% stroke from beyond the arc), and I really like the deal.
As for Atlanta's comment - "I think UTAH gave up already" - um, the regular season is over basically. I'm already eliminated from the playoffs...how would I NOT have given up? And really I don't care who wins the championship when I'm this far out of the running.
I've already asked Sac what he'd be willing to put in, b/c I saw a lot of you were ignorant and talking bad on the deal. We'll see. I usually don't like to say all the reasons why I like the deal for myself before the other guy has even accepted formally (he did accept it in PMs), but I would assume Sac is just going all out for this year.
Guess we'll wait to see how Sac accepts or rejects.

I really don't think this is that bad. Rudy's the best play on a weak team, Chandler had guys like Harrington and Hughes taking shots away from him. Gay's really overrated IMO. And no, you won't get an 85+ player for Gay unless you were trading with an idiot. I know this because on RealGM, there were discussions of Gay possibly going to Portland, after comparisons, Gay and Outlaw were pretty much the same player. I'm not gonna go deep into this, but Gay isn't as good as some people here think he is. If I were on the TC, I'd let this pass. Just my .o2.

lol for gay you easily get a 85+ player... If Gay and his stats easily get an 85+, then Chandler and his stats, coupled with Azubuike and his stats, is worth at least an 83+. Your argument holds no water if you have nothing to back it up.

it's not always about ratings man.... it is in the GM's feeling that what might be the better roster for his team... even getting a lower rated players in your team can make a team better...
just like my team, when i traded gasol (86) and camby (83) for aldridge (82), hawes (75) and sessions (73) many have said this is a crazy trade but maybe now i proved them wrong....
from 2 games under .500 when i came to 5 games over .500 right now, i think it's not a crazy trade at all.....
so in short and again.... being a GM is not all about ratings, it includes gut feel to form a team then hope they'll gonna work good together and win games....

Minny minny minny...the Stats are where we get the ratings. Looking at those stats, I'm saying I expect Gay vs. Chandler to be very close in ratings after the next rating change, and Azubuike should go up to at least a 75 himself. So it is about the stats, because...this will be good, wait for it.. The Ratings are about the Stats!

Sacramento is still not saying his opinions about this trade...
@ MIA your trade IMO is a fair trade I don't think that trade was a crazy one( sorry I'm not here yet) cause you gave 2 vets for 3 young promising players.
In this trade I dont think it is not that fair, GAY is a young promising player to be given to another 2 young players only.

I think if Stuckey was thrown in it would be a fair trade, I'm tired of SAC winning HUGE in the rating department...he is going to have either Battier or Gay OFF THE BENCH!
