well teams who didnt make the playoffs have the best chance to get the number 1 pick (as i listed above the teams who have the chance to get the picks)
the only two teams who will have 29, 30 pick this summer draft will be Myself and Dallas (due to the fact we made the finals)
so these teams which i am going to list will have the chance to get the number 1 pick
Sacramento Kings New Jersey Nets Minnesota Timberwolves Seattle Supersonics Philadelphia 76ers Milwaukee Bucks Orlando Magic Portland Trailblazers Los Angeles Lakers Miami Heat New York Knicks Golden State Warriors Indiana Pacers Memphis Grizzlies

15? 16 teams make the playoffs. I don't think there are 31 teams in the NBA. There are 14 lottery teams. I didn't think every team who didnt qulify for playoffs got place in the lottery i thought there were a few who just had set picks like the teams that made playoffs Pretty much it is like that. The 14 teams not in the playoffs are the lotto teams.

Ok, to clear it up once and for all. Lottery teams are all of the non playoff teams. 16 teams make the playoffs so the other 14 teams are in the lottery. The top three picks are decided by the lottery and the rest go by record (worst to best). A team can't drop more than 3 spots from their projected draft positions, i.e. the Kings in this league couldn't fall lower than the 4th pick.

ok so i have the same chance of getting the number 1 pick as a team like memphis or indiana but i can't drop lower then 4th thats good and bad but i think i should have better chance then them of getting the number 1 or something

You do have a better chance of getting the #1 pick.
Here are the odds
As of 2005, with 30 NBA teams, 16 qualify for the playoffs and the remaining 14 teams are entered in the draft lottery. These 14 teams are ranked in reverse order of their regular season record and are assigned the following number of chances:
1. 250 combinations, 25% chance of receiving the #1 pick 2. 199 combinations, 19.9% chance 3. 156 combinations, 15.6% chance 4. 119 combinations, 11.9% chance 5. 88 combinations, 8.8% chance 6. 63 combinations, 6.3% chance 7. 43 combinations, 4.3% chance 8. 28 combinations, 2.8% chance 9. 17 combinations, 1.7% chance 10. 11 combinations, 1.1% chance 11. 8 combinations, 0.8% chance 12. 7 combinations, 0.7% chance 13. 6 combinations, 0.6% chance 14. 5 combinations, 0.5% chance
