Lots of potential to be a busy deadline with the likes of Amare, Shaq, Boozer, Marion, JO, Sheed, VC OTB. Cats and Lakers made a deal earlier today, Cats send Ammo and Brown to the Lakers for Vlad. Good move for the Lakers as they clear some cap to re-sign Ariza. Phil might actually turn Ammo into a solid player like he did to Smush, Ariza and Cook. Another puzzling move from the Cats IMO. As for the Shaq, Amare rumors. Here's a link to a ESPN article on possible trades. sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=ford_chad&page=amaredealscenario-090207Marion <-> Chandler, Sheed to SAS sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=tradetalk-090205Sheed and TD would be the perfect complement with TD working the low block and Sheed spreading the floor, they'd be dominant on defence too. Post any rumors, trades, discussion about the deadline in this thread.

Phil might actually turn Ammo into a solid player like he did to Smush, Ariza and Cook. Another puzzling move from the Cats IMO. I have to say that as a Bobcats fan, I am very happy with this deal. Adam Morrison is a borderline NBA player at best. For the Bobcats, he is nothing more than an expiring contract or they could exercise a team option and he would be a overpaid, expiring contract next season. His rookie year had flashes of potential but he has shown nothing, I mean nothing at all, in the past year or more. Shannon Brown can be exciting to watch but he is a borderline d-league player. Radmonivic will be a welcome addition to the Bobcats who continue Larry Brown's roster recontruction. We have a saying in Bobcats's nation "ILBIT" - In Larry Brown I Trust. I expect this trade to be a positive for the Bobcats just like the others this year have been. Maybe Phil Jackson can Zen Morrison into a player but I doubt it. Too slow and very unsure of his shot. You can literally see him thinking about everything each time he touches the ball. He hasn't listened to his natural instinct since his rookie year or maybe even since Gonzaga. Time will tell but I think it is a good trade for the Bobcats. They gave up next to nothing.

I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of the JRich and Diop trades but they've turned out to be pretty solid deals for the Cats.

The Jason Richardson deal which brought Diaw and Bell was unbelievable.
Diaw has not only improved our ball movement and passing by 100x but his game at the 4 spot has given Okafor so much room to operate down low that it's not even funny. Look at Okafor's stats this year before and after the trade. He has been positively effected as much as anyone. Oh yeah, Bell's defense and shooting have been awesome. Great, and I really mean great, trade.
Before the Wallace injury (Thanks Bynum) the Bobcats were winning a lot more than they were losing and have beaten teams like Boston, Detroit and LA. I fully expect them to make a solid run, if not make the playoffs and it will be mostly due to this deal when they do.

From an outside observer, Diaw has played really well for Charlotte so far. Hes reverting back to his 2006 form, when he won Most improved player. Good trade for Charlotte. J-Rich is overrated, IMHO. Stephen Jackson is as good as J-Rich, minus the ridiculous athletic ability. Good trade for Charlotte.

Nets have made an offer for Amare...I wouldn't touch that NJ offer if I were Kerr. Me either. There is no way you can't get more than that for Amare. Also, with the age of Shaq and Nash, wouldn't you be trying to trade for veterans that you could win now with? Trading Amare for young guys would be a huge mistake in my opinion.

I agree with the Bulls, the Suns are a 100% win now team...they are playing bad but overall they are one of the best teams, they should be at least 3rd in the West....I dunno why they are trying to trade everyone for young stars....experience is what wins titles
And now that I saw that 1st link with possible trades for Amare/Shaq I do think that all of them wouldnt be the best choice for the Suns...that Beasley/Marion for Amare is the best one...but still not that great...and I dont think that the heat will do that
Shaq for Kidd is the dumbest IMO...

I honestly think IF Phoenix is going to make a move they should trade Shaq back to LA for Odom and Sasha. Odom could fit in like Marion did, and with Jrich they could go super run and gun all over people (since they can't make it worth with Shaq.) Odom would expire and give them cap space, while Sasha is a nice young player. Shaq could feel Bynum's role and it would make for a GREAT story, though after seeing Odom today idk if LA would do it haha.

Shaq is playing great for his age and...body lol Now Im liking to see him playing for phoenix even if they losing easy games...
Nash is probably my favorite player now, but he is aging, and is sucking in D even more...so they should trade him for someone like Billups or some young guy like Harris...and keep the Shaq/Amare frontcourt....but Amare needs to learn what D is

The Suns trade Amare to GS for Biedrins, Turiaf, and Randolph, then trade Shaq to LAL for Odom and filler. Their new line-up could be..
Biedrins Odom Hill Richardson Nash
I hate to see Amare get traded, but I could be happy with those deals, unfortunately I see Sarver trading Amare for cap relief.

That'd be an interesting lineup In other news, Mo Williams finally gets on the All Star team sports.espn.go.com/nba/allstar2009/news/story?id=3897494Meh, guess the morale of the story is keep *****ing and you'll get what you want. Doesn't make sense to replace a forward (Bosh) with a G. If they wanted to take a guard, they should've picked VC who would've been much more entertaining to watch. If not, Lee would have been a better replacement for Bosh.

Mo got robbed, he has been a MUCH bigger impact than Nelson and is on a MUCH better team than Harris. Take your pick but he should be on the Allstar team imo, I really like that guy now that I've seen him play.

IMO the East team is too small now, should've replaced CB4 with a big. VC and David Lee got snubbed

TO be honest, nobody is really talking about the mavericks when it comes to the trade deadline. Yeah, there is the J Kidd for Shaq rumor...meh, there is J-Ho to everywhere rumor, meh.... but there are also more talks involving other players.
1) Talks of a Kidd for B Diddy and Kaman were shot down by the Mavs apparently.... 2) Sacramento trio of Miller, Udrih, and Salmons have been on the radar of the Mavs 3) Rumors of a Vince Carter to Mavs 4) Mavs have some valuable assets other than J Ho. We have Kidds monster expiring contract, Stackhouse's expiring is also very valuable, Brandon Bass has become a good young player who teams are very interested in....so on and so on.
Look for the mavs to make a splash in the trade deadline, but not with one of the major deals that are being publicised. I think they are going to come through with a "Gasol Like" deal that the Lakers pulled last year. Only problem with that scenario is that the Mavs dont have any first round picks that they are able to trade ( thanks to the Harris/Kidd swap).

Speaking of the Mavs VC for Howard deal in the works?IMO this is a steal for the Mavs, they'd get a scorer with Terry out. Kidd and VC united would be interesting no doubt.

It's official! JO, Moon for Marion, Banks! sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3905146Don't know how I feel about this as a Raps fan. Miami obviously gets a great deal not only dumping Banks nasty contract but also frees up 21M for 2010 with JO coming off the books. It was obvious JO, Bargs and Bosh wasn't gonna work out and know we can give Bargs consistent minutes plus we get that slashing, rebounding wing man we've been lacking since forever. Sucks we have to take on Banks but he's a good defender which is something we need. Pretty excited to see Marion in the lineup but this could potentially hurt us in the long run if Marion doesn't re-sign.

JO, Moon for Marion and Banks.
As a Raps fan this is a tough trade. It's good because as SAC said we get that slashing, rebouding wing man but its bad because we get MARCUS BANKS CONTRACT. That contract is just pure nasty.

Miami fans have to be jumping up and down in joy right now, win win trade for them. Could potentially be a great deal for the Raps too with the exception of Banks.
Apparently, the Raps also traded a pick and will receive 3M in cash in return. I'd sell a second rounder for 3M anyday.
